What are some easy to make cartoon costumes for a teen boy with black hair?

One time in high school, I dressed up as Ash from Pokemon (just needed a blue jacket, black shirt, jeans, and a red hat).

I usually make my own costumes since it's cheaper and more fun. However, I need some ideas. I'm a teenage boy with black hair and light skin. My hair is also very, very short.

I was thinking maybe Mario or Luigi from Super Mario or Harry Potter. Anybody have any ideas?
